Activation Guide

Get started with Continuity Pro in minutes

Quick Start

  1. 1
    Purchase a license from the pricing page
  2. 2
    Check your email for your license key (UUID format)
  3. 3
    Install the VS Code extension from the marketplace
  4. 4
    Activate your license using the command palette

1. Get Your License Key

After purchasing Continuity Pro, you'll receive an email with your license key.

License Key Format (UUID):

XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX

Example: 12345678-90ab-cdef-1234-567890abcdef

Your license key will be a unique identifier in UUID format.

All license types (Monthly, Annual, Lifetime) use the same UUID format.

2. Download & Install the Extension

Install the Extension

Install the latest version of Continuity directly from the VS Code Marketplace:

Installation Steps

Follow these steps to install the extension:

  1. Click "Install from VS Code Marketplace" above
  2. Click "Install" in the VS Code Marketplace page
  3. VS Code will open and install the extension automatically
  4. Reload VS Code when prompted

3. Activate Your License

Activate your license using the command palette:

  1. Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P
  2. Type "Continuity: Activate License"
  3. Enter your license key
  4. Enter your email address
  5. Click Activate

✅ Success! You'll see a confirmation message and all Pro features will be unlocked.

Device Management

Maximum Devices

All Pro licenses allow activation on up to 3 devices simultaneously. This includes your work computer, personal laptop, and any other machine.

View Active Devices

  1. Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P
  2. Type "Continuity: Manage Devices"
  3. View all activated devices with last seen timestamps

Deactivate a Device

Need to free up an activation slot? You can deactivate devices at any time:

  1. Run "Continuity: Manage Devices"
  2. Select the device you want to deactivate
  3. Confirm deactivation

⚠️ Note: Deactivating a device will immediately revoke Pro features on that device.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid License Key"

  • Double-check for typos in your license key
  • Make sure you're using the email address from your purchase
  • Contact [email protected] if the issue persists

"Maximum Devices Reached"

  • You've activated 3 devices (the maximum allowed)
  • Deactivate a device using "Continuity: Manage Devices"
  • Or manage devices at app.hackerware.co/devices

"License Expired"

  • Your subscription has expired (Monthly or Annual plans)
  • Renew your subscription to restore Pro features
  • Or upgrade to Lifetime for one-time payment at continuity.dev/pricing

"Unable to Verify License (Offline)"

  • Continuity works offline for up to 7 days using cached license
  • Connect to the internet to refresh your license status
  • After 7 days offline, you'll temporarily revert to Free tier
